Russian President Putin Meets With Wang Yi

Wang Yi said that the current international situation is complex and severe, but China-Russia relations have experienced the test of the international situation and are mature, tenacious and stable. The China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era has never been directed at, interfered with or coerced by third parties. Because China-Russia relations have a solid political, economic and cultural foundation, and have a calm and sober mind after summing up historical experience, but also because the world multi-polarization and democratization of international relations that we jointly support are in line with the trend of development of the times and the aspirations of most countries. China is willing to work with Russia to maintain strategic focus, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen strategic cooperation, expand practical cooperation, safeguard the legitimate interests of the two countries, and play a constructive role in promoting world peace and development.
He said that the 20th CPC National Congress opened up new prospects for China's development. At present, Russia-China relations are moving towards the established goals. The cooperation between the two sides in various fields and the coordination in multilateral organizations such as SCO and BRICS are fruitful. Strengthening solidarity and cooperation in international affairs is of great significance to promoting the democratization of international relations and the balance and stability of the international pattern.
The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the Ukrainian issue. Wang Yi expressed his appreciation to the Russian side for reiterating its willingness to resolve the issue through dialogue and negotiation. China will, as always, uphold an objective and impartial position and play a constructive role in resolving the crisis politically.
