"Coming!" At about 8:58 in the morning, the girl in a pink skirt sat on her father's shoulder and looked at the right side of the crowd. The tourists stirred up, stood on tiptoe, raised their mobile phones above their heads and looked at them from a distance. "Under the umbrella! I can see my ears!" the tourist shouted excitedly, "What a big one!"
At 9:00 a.m. on March 10, Meimei, a red panda, the protagonist of the Disney Pixar animated film "Youth Metamorphosis", made its world debut in front of the statue of the storyteller in Shanghai Disneyland, attracting a crowd of tourists to stop and cheer.
Ears moving, arms lifting, buttocks twisting... under the guidance of the staff, Meimei danced and appeared on the stage. The reporter saw on the spot that the little panda was about two meters high, with red hair all over the body, dark red hands and feet, white eyebrows and flesh-colored ears. The little panda grins slightly, with wide body and short legs. It moves slowly and leisurely, with a fat tail behind it, which swings with the movement.
Bobby (alias) from Minhang, Shanghai, took a special leave today. He got up at five o'clock in the morning and came to the park to see the beauty. She holds a plush toy of a little panda, which she bought from an online store earlier, "I like this movie very much. The doll of this character was sold last year, but I still want to see the real red panda." Bobby sighed: "It's much bigger than I expected. It's very solid. It jumps up and its belly is duang duang. Its hair is shaking all over. If it can move each other, it must feel very good!" Bobby said with a smile, "Meimei also has the same big tail as Lingna Bell. I think this one also has the chance to become famous.
"Meimei is a girl born in an Asian family, and the relationship between Meimei and her parents is very delicate." Visitor Soso thinks that Meimei's story resonates with him. "They have thought of resistance, have been confused, and then try to understand."
In March 2022, the animated film "Youth Deformed" with Meimei as the main character was released in the United States. The story tells that Meimei, a 13-year-old girl, grew up in a typical Asian family. Her mother is a slightly "neurotic" woman who takes care of her children. In front of her mother, Meimei always plays the role of a good girl, but in fact, she is as naughty and active as all children of the same age, and begins to have an interest in the opposite sex. In an accident, Meimei changed into a panda under great pressure, revealing the secret hidden in her family. In the film, Meimei's transformation into a red panda is regarded as the beginning of adolescence, the beginning of self-exploration, and the metaphor for starting to seek real reconciliation with herself, mother and family.
At 10:45, more than an hour later, in the color celebration of the limited spring performance of Shanghai Disney's recent return, Meimei joined the "Red Team" camp and reappeared. This time, Meimei's appearance lasted longer, about 15 minutes, and had more interaction with Superman and tourists.
