Qin Gang Meets With Russian Foreign Minister Lavro

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov during the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi.
The two sides should maintain exchanges at all levels and close communication and coordination between the diplomatic departments of the two countries. In the face of the complex and severe international situation, China is willing to work with the international community, including Russia, to jointly maintain peace, security, development and prosperity, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Lavrov said that he is willing to implement the consensus of the two heads of state, close high-level exchanges and plan cooperation in various fields with China. Both Russia and China are members of the "Group of Friends to Defend the Charter of the United Nations" and are willing to strengthen strategic communication with China to inject more stability into the international system. Russia supports and will actively participate in the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and will continue to strengthen the coordination and cooperation between the two sides within the multilateral framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on the crisis in Ukraine. Qin Gang comprehensively explained the basic position of China, calling for jointly upholding the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, supporting the political solution of the crisis, opposing the use of fire to pour oil, undermining the peace talks, opposing double standards, and opposing the imposition of sanctions. Qin Gang said that China supports all efforts to promote peace and will continue to play a constructive role in this regard. Lavrov appreciated China's objective and impartial position and constructive role, and said that Russia has always been open to negotiation and dialogue.
The two sides jointly signed the consultation plan of the two foreign ministries in 2023.
